THE mayor and deputy mayor designates were proposed at the full Holsworthy Town Council meeting on Wednesday, April 4.

Cllr Keith Musker proposed Cllr Jon Hutchings continue for a third term as mayor. Cllr Musker said: “I think Jon has done an excellent job over the last two years and I want to see him continue on in the role.”

Councillors held a vote and Cllr Hutchings’ nomination was accepted with one abstention.

Cllr Michael Stanton then proposed that Cllr Colin Punter continue as deputy mayor for a second year. The vote was carried with one abstention.

The council will formally elect the mayor and deputy mayor at the annual meeting to be held in the Memorial Hall on Wednesday, May 2.
