Next Tuesday at 6.30pm in the Manor Suite, Holsworthy a vital meeting for the future of the Holsworthy branch of the Devon Senior Council will take place.

Since it was set up in November 2007 it has given people aged over 50 a chance to have their say and take steps to address their concerns. Issues such as public transport and the withdrawal of hospital cars, the high cost of fuel, access to care, the council tax, the winter fuel payment and the lack of opportunities for adult learning have been raised and acted upon.

The Annual General Meeting will be critical since the branch has so far only attracted a small band of loyal members and a larger membership representing the area will be needed to elect an executive committee of up to nine members and two representatives on to the Senior Council for Devon (SCfD) Assembly.
