HOLSWORTHY Town Council is inviting residents of the town and the surrounding parishes to send in nominations for the title of Honorary Freeman of Holsworthy.

This civic honour will be awarded to an individual who resides in the area and has served Holsworthy and its people through personal good deeds or as part of a larger organisation, making a real and tangible contribution to the life and essence of the town.

The award was established six years ago and last year's recipient was Mrs Liz Curtis. This year it will be presented at the Annual Town Meeting to be held in the Market Hall at 7pm on Thursday, April 21. The winner will hold the title for a year and receive the Honorary Freeman's Silver Cup, a framed certificate, an invitation to join the Mayor with partner or spouse at the Court Leet meeting during St Peter's Fair week.

A nomination form can be found at the back of the spring edition of the Holsworthy Town Newsletter or from the Holsworthy Information Centre and must be returned to the Town Clerk's office by Wednesday, March 23.
