BUDE Sea Pool supporters brave the depths of the Atlantic and the height of Mount Everest to raise funds for vital repairs, writes Natalie Venning.

The historic tidal swimming pool is undergoing extensive restoration by the Friends of Bude Sea Pool. After successfully completing several initial projects in the two years since FoBSP took on the pool's management, the group aims to tackle major renovations to the pool's retaining outer wall next year. The works are expected to cost at least £50,000, and local residents have risen to the challenge of contributing to the cause.

"My children aged 12 and 10 love the sea pool," said Bude resident and lifelong surfer Steve Munday. "We went there every day during the summer. They would be devastated if the pool were to close so I decided to help FoBSP raise funds for the urgent repairs to the sea wall."
