IT WAS interesting to read the comments regarding the iron sculptures on the canal banks at Bude.
Apart from being an 'eyesore', have those who were responsible for them considered the danger they pose to young people playing on them?
I was passing them last week and saw two young lads about 14 years old, taking a running jump up the side of the upright one, trying to get to the top. Each time they tried, they fell off, bouncing off them down to the ground. Either one could have had a serious injury — cracked skull, or broken limb etc.
Is the Cornwall County Council quite happy to have legal proceedings brought against them by an angry parent whose child is injured on the sculptures? And who will foot the bill? The council tax payer?
Morwenstow,
Bude.
