THE Holsworthy Neighbourhood Police Team recently released a warning to the public, telling of the dangers of scam phone calls.

The police would like to make the public aware of a phone scam that has been occurring in the Holsworthy area in recent weeks.

A phone call is received with a recorded message claiming to be from Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. The message issues a threat of further action due to unpaid taxes and tells the individual to call a specific telephone number to deal with the issue.

One of the numbers that has been reported as being given is 0020 3129 7005 — however the police warn there may be others used.

If anyone has received a similar call to this they are asked to not call the given number and instead contact Action Fraud immediately and report it. To contact Action Fraud call 0300 123 2040 or online at www.actionfraud.police.uk
