SANTA has paid an early visit to the Pavey Groups’s new Holsworthy branch to announce their support of the upcoming ‘Santas on the Run’ event.

This December will mark the first time the event, organised by Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), will be held in Holsworthy.

Cheryl Phillips, sales and marketing manager from the farming and commercial insurance brokers, said: “Pavey Group is delighted to be sponsoring the Holsworthy Santa Run. As our charity of the year, we have already held a host of fundraising activities in our Torquay and Exeter offices, including car washes, dress down days, bake offs and a 210 mile walk.

“Being able to support this fun event in a town where we have also recently opened a new office is an ideal way for us to get involved and support the local community.

This is the first time that Children’s Hospice South West has brought its family Santa Run to Holsworthy, and event organiser Jayne Jarrett said: “Having our festive family fun run in Holsworthy is so exciting.

“As it is the charity’s 25th anniversary year, we really hope that the community supports our event and we cannot wait to see hundreds of Santas running through the Square!”

The Holsworthy Santas on the Run event will take place on the evening of Friday, December 4, at 6.30pm, to coincide with the town’s ‘Christmas Lights Switch-On’ festivities.

Participants can run, jog or walk the 2k route, and there will be prizes for the best fancy dress — so everyone will need to dig out their best tinsel early!

Registration is just £15 for adults and £7.50 for children, aged over three, with a family ticket for £37.50 — which includes a Santa suit and special 25th CHSW anniversary commemorative medal.

Money raised from the fun run will help to support local, life-limited children and their families at the charity’s Little Bridge House hospice in North Devon. Online registration for the Santa Run is available on the website www.chsw.org.uk/santasholsworthy
