A BOY from Bude who completed a gruelling 1,000 mile charity bike ride earlier in the year has presented a cheque to the Friends of Bude Sea Pool.

Samuel Jennings, 12, rode from John O'Groats to Land's End and the total raised was more than £19,000, including Gift Aid.

Supported by local businesses and people, the money raised has been shared between the Friends of Bude Sea Pool and Daniel's Heroes, which supports Children's Hospice South West and Muscular Atrophy Support UK.

Samuel expressed thanks to everybody who helped him in raising so much for such worthy causes. Thanks were also extended to all those who gave Samuel and the team accommodation en route, food, bike spares and many other provisions they required.
