TWO siblings from Bude are embarking on an adventure to walk the length of the Cornish coast path during the half term, raising money for two young boys with rare forms of cancer and Clic Sargent.

Samuel Jennings, 14, and his sister, Poppy Jennings, 11, are doing the walk for Talan Penny, 18, and Benny Bennett, 3, from Bude who are both undergoing treatment for very rare forms of cancer, as well as for the children’s cancer charity, Clic Sargent.

Samuel, aged 11 at the time, has raised over £20,000 for charity before, by cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End, doing a triathlon and a 90 mile cycle ride.

This time, Samuel will be joined by his little sister, Poppy, planning to walk over 140miles with 10miles of vertical climbing during their upcoming half term.

The walk will start on Sunday, and they will be walking back from Lands End to finish in Bude.

The last leg will be from Crackington Haven to Bude on June 5, and people are invited to join them if they wish, for support. Bude Coastguards and Widemouth Bay Task Force are both supporting the walk.

Anyone wishing to join in will have to meet at Crackington car park at 9.30am to head off toward Trelawny Tea Rooms in Widemouth for lunch, and then leaving there at 1.30pm to head towards the finish line, which will be at the Brendon Arms where refreshments will be provided.

To sponsor Samuel and Poppy, collection pots are available in businesses around Bude; cheques can be sent to Sam’s Cycle c/o Sarah Penny, Four Seasons Florists, Bude; or there is an online page at virginmoneygiving.com/samscycle.

Full details of the walk can be found on the Sam’s Cycle Facebook page.
