MEMBERS of Devon and Cornwall Police and Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service attended St-Giles-on-the-Heath's recent community safety day at the village hall.

The aim was to provide emergency service advice and information to the community, with the emphasis on road and fire safety.

Fire service educational appliances were brought along, and the police crime prevention officer was available to offer advice to residents in conjunction with local officers.

Speed enforcement activity and school speed watch were also in operation during the day, with offending drivers being offered advice and education from the fire service advocates and police officers on site.
