A Bodmin man who runs a group for children and young adults with additional needs has been presented with an award by Prince Harry.
Kelvin Donaghy was honoured for his work in creating and running Equally Abled in the town.
He was picked out from nominations from across the UK to win the Parent Carer category at the WellChild Awards.
A relaxed Prince Harry spoke with Kelvin at the awards event.
The awards celebrate the resilience of children and young people living with serious illnesses or complex medical needs and honour the dedication of people who go the extra mile to help them.
Among the celebrities at the awards event were singer Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Harry Potter actor Tom Felton and broadcaster Gaby Roslin.
Kelvin, who also runs the Bodmin business The Pad, was nominated in recognition of the work he does in his own time for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Inspired by his daughter who has a complex set of health conditions, Kelvin set up Equally Abled which enables young people with such medical needs and disabilities to hang out like any other teenagers.
The group has had such a positive impact that Kelvin has set up a second group called Equally Abled Junior aimed at younger children. In a speech, Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, who has been the patron of WellChild for 15 years, praised the work that was being done.
