Manchester replied with a penalty kicked by skipper fly half Danny Carlton.

The All Blacks soon got their second try, wing Ryan Westren was on the end of a very good handling move in the backs to score on the overlap with fly half Ton Yapp adding the extra two points, the first of his eight conversions.

Full back Jon Fabian was on Paterson's shoulder to break through the middle and touch down, Yapp converting and on the half hour hooker Jamie Salter went over from a catch and drive wide out.

Within three minutes of the restart the All Blacks were awarded a penalty try after Manchester came round the back of the visitors' scrum before the ball was out. Yapp again converted.

Centre Murphy increased the lead from a simple passing move on the overlap, then prop Neil Bayliss scored after more forward pressure, Yapp converting;

Paterson got his second try after yet another fluent threequarter move; and from a lineout 10 metres out the All Blacks caught and drove, recycled and lock Nathan Hannay scored.

The All Blacks' final try came from Fabian who went over for his brace after a fine passing move involving replacement centre Tom Preece who, on his second first team outing, played extremely well. Yapp added three more conversions.
