FOLLOWING the news that Exeter based construction company, Rok, has gone into administration, housing developers Sanctuary Housing have confirmed that work on the Miller House site on Dunheved Road, Launceston will be completed, albeit slightly delayed.

Rowan Kirk, Sanctuary's Director of Development Services, said: "We are working with our framework construction partners and taking appropriate legal advice but we can confirm that the project will be completed to a high quality early in the new year, slightly behind programme due to the circumstances surrounding Rok."

The company was contracted to undertake the work set out by Sanctuary Housing on the Dunheved Road site and commenced doing so early this year.

The site is now covered by round-the-clock security.

There have been strong fears that a number of building projects throughout Devon and Cornwall could be at risk following the confirmation of administration.

Rok's administrators, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) have said that they would try to find a buyer for the company, and that all staff would still be paid.

Rok, which employs almost 4,000 people and provides building services for councils, schools, housing associations and businesses, reported a £3.8m loss in the first half of the year.

In a statement released last Friday, a PwC spokesperson confirmed that negotiations regarding the sale of Rok divisions were ongoing and likely to continue into this week.
