THE festival of nine lessons and carols was held at St Nonna’s Church, Altarnun on Monday, December 21.
Many members of Altarnun Church Bell Ringers attended and rang ‘call changes’ to start the evening.
The singing of the carols was led by St Gennys Silver Band. Between the singing of the nine carols, nine lessons were read by representatives of the WI, bell ringers, Brownies, parish council, community choir, the school, Chi-Rho Youth Group and the bowls and table tennis clubs.
Near the end of the service, the Rev Deryn Roberts read St John 1 verses 1 to 14, and wished a large congregation a Merry Christmas.
Everyone was invited to the church hall next door for mince pies and tea after, and to support that St Gennys Silver Band played the congregation out to ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’.
