Rev Steven Wild, the Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly Methodist District Chair, will not be returning to his ministry following a safeguarding investigation carried out by the Methodist Church.
A new chair of district has been appointed and will take up the post in the summer.
Following the investigation Mark Dunn-Wilson, deputy chair of district, said: “The Methodist Church’s safeguarding investigation into the Rev Steven Wild has ended.
“The Connexional safeguarding panel has considered the complaints, which did not relate to children, and concluded that the information provided to them was sufficient to determine that Mr Wild should not be permitted to return to his ministry."
