BUDE-STRATTON Town Council is urging residents to buy re-useable sacks to stop foxes and seagulls pecking at their rubbish.
The issue was raised by Cornwall Councillor for Bude, Peter La Broy, at last Thursday’s Bude-Stratton town council meeting.
Cllr La Broy, who also sits on the town council, said: “The threat of seagulls are never far away. The normal black plastic bags are getting pecked, leaving people to pick up their rubbish outside of their homes.
“The new re-useable sacks are available for just £3.50 from the One Stop Shop which is next to the library. Each sack holds two black bags so hopefully people will start buying them.”
For further information on the bags, call the One Stop Shop on 0300 1234111.
