THREE pets have sadly died following a fire at a home in Kilkhampton last Thursday evening.

At around 10.40pm police officers were called to reports of a fire at Leypark Farm. A woman was rescued from the house by police officers who arrived first on the scene. Officers from Bude, including fire crews, were called to the property at around 10.40pm.

A fire had taken hold in the downstairs of the property and a woman was trapped upstairs.

Three police officers went into the property before the fire service arrived and led the woman to safety. She was treated for smoke inhalation and minor burns by an ambulance crew and taken to hospital.
