HUNDREDS of people braved the cold conditions and donned their beach wear, including Santa outfits, for the annual Christmas Day swim at Crooklets Beach, Bude.
The Mike Moyle swim, in support of Bude Surf Life Saving Club (BSLSC), received a terrific turn out from members of the public, who took to the ocean like 'ducks to water'.
Adrian Parsons (Horace), Chairman of BSLSC said: "On behalf of Bude Surf Life Saving Club I would like to thank everyone who gave up their time on Christmas morning to come to Crooklets Beach, to support the club's annual swim.
"The turn out of both swimmers and spectators was truly amazing, making it the biggest swim in the club's history. We easily exceeded last year's record number of swimmers."
The event originally began as a challenge between a few members of the club, who happened to be at the beach on a Christmas morning, 35 years or so, ago.
