THE new Bude branch of the Dr Hadwen Trust, which had a stall at the Mind, Body and Soul Fair at the Parkhouse over the weekend, raised £184.85 for the charity.

The group aims to have fun while raising awareness and money for the charity, which funds research into cures and treatments for human disease without harming animals.

Steph Jones-Giles, who started the group, said: “The aim was to raise awareness, so, importantly, at least 30 people who didn’t know anything about the DHT do now, and ten of those signed up to receive more info from DHT by email, so it was a great success all round.”

The inaugural meeting of the new Bude Dr Hadwen Trust Group took place on Sunday at Crooklets Beach Café.

Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to request to join Dr Hadwen Trust Bude Group on Facebook or contact Steph on 07971 454214.
