A LAUNCESTON man has written a letter of thanks to South Devon Railway Association staff after his dog fell onto a railway track. Les Whaley and his wife Gloria along with their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Winston, were leaving a train coach at Littlehempston Station, Totnes on August 30 when the dog fell down the side of the platform and on to the track. Mr Whaley said: "We were all getting off the coach. I went first, Winston was on his lead and he made a jump to the platform. "His front legs made the platform, his rear legs missed and he fell between the platform and the coach on to the track. The train and coaches had stopped at the time."
