FLOWERPATCH Quilters held their week-long 35th Annual Patchwork and Quilting Exhibition in the Central Methodist Hall, Launceston.

This thriving group of over 50 quilters was formed in July 1983 and has managed to stage a successful exhibition and make a charity quilt every year since!

This year members had made numerous beautiful and intricate king-size, double and single size quilts, which were displayed in the main hall. Even the walls were covered with hangings, fabric pictures and lap quilts. Pride of place however, was taken by the colourful charity quilt ‘Over The Rainbow’, handmade by the members and cleverly quilted by Sandy Chandler. This was being raffled for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Upstairs in the Epworth Room the theme was ‘Weather’ and Jane Waller and Flowerpatch members had brought in more colourful hangings and quilts interpreting this theme. Throughout the display wonderful flower arrangements co-ordinating the surrounding quilts had been arranged by Jane Bebbington, Maggie Colwill and Janet Crossman.
