A QUILTER from Holsworthy, Jeanette Orr, has had one of her quilts juried on to the World International Quilt Show, which will be held in Florida at the end of this year, prior to touring across the USA, writes Christine Williams.
A total of 37 quilts have been selected for this honour from across the whole of the UK, of which five are from the West Country.
Jeanette’s quilt is entitled ‘A Florentine Fantasy’ and depicts an intricate design inlaid on a large sixteenth century table in Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen.
Jeanette was thrilled to learn that her work had been selected for this prestigious show. She said: “It would be just amazing to win a prize, but I have to be realistic and recognise that the competition from across the world will be of the highest order.”
