Boyton Methodist Church harvest celebrations took place last Friday and Sunday week, when the chapel was an array of autumnal colour displaying the beauty and wonder of God in nature.

The children’s harvest table depicted all phases of the harvest, nature and the countryside. Mark and Sandra Shepherd led the café style service. Every chair was occupied.

Harvest hymns of praise and thanksgiving were accompanied by Sandra on the organ and the children took part with their puppets. Delicious savouries and puddings were served during the service while listening to meaningful and inspirational words of encouragement from both Mark and Sandra.

Agnes Colwill welcomed Keith Mutton who led Sunday morning worship. Ruth Allin was the organist and Oliver and Samuel Strout the collection stewards. Keith’s inspiring talk on the seed, the planted seed and the seeds of the church gave everyone food for thought.

The puppeteers performed a sketch entitled ‘Be kind to others’, an amusing sketch with a message from puppet ‘Billy Bible’. Puppeteers taking part on Friday and Sunday were, Oliver, Samuel and Ella Strout, Harry and Chloe Daniel, Grace and Lauren Cann, Bella and Sybil Martyn-Uglow.

A wonderful weekend of worship, thanksgiving and praise. Proceeds were shared with the Launceston Hospital League of Friends.
