TRACTOR pullers joined banger racers for the first time at a joint event held near Launceston over the weekend.

North Cornwall Motor Racing Club was joined by some members of the Cornish Tractor Pullers Club at Netherbridge on Saturday and Sunday. A cheque for £1,000 was also presented to Children’s Hospice South West representative Anne Purdin.

Club chairperson Irene Guymer said: “We had our friends from the Cornish Tractor Pullers Club so it was a joint mixed event of racing from the banger club and some tractor pulling as well. We have never done [a joint event] before but will be hoping to make it an annual event now, just to try and bring something different to the Launceston area.”

The donation followed a fundraising banger race meeting held in April.
