The Shebbear and District Riding Club will hold their annual show, but this year it will be open for the public to compete.

The annual show will be held on Saturday, June 18, with classes starting from 10am, at Evergreen Farm, Ashwater, Beaworthy, by kind permission of Peter and Emma Down.

There will be rosettes up for grabs up to sixth place giving amateurs and professionals alike the chance of competing for a top prize — with this year’s event being open to all.

Club secretary, Lisa Gilbert said: “We are a fun and friendly show and we want people to enjoy themselves, it is nothing too high brow and we welcome anyone to enter, whether you are amateur or professional.

“This will be the first year we have opened this event up to the public, we have previously just kept it as a private event for the club so it will be really great to see new talent this year.

“The show will be a really great opportunity to meet people at the club and will be great for us to see some new faces.

The event will be a great opportunity for those in the Shebbear and District Riding Club to compete and put their skills to the test in this year‘s annual show, and to also compete alongside some new faces.

Lisa added: “We have a great show field and it is always a lovely event, well, as long as the weather stays as equally lovely.

“It will be a low key event but we hope to encourage some people, like amateur riders who may not have competed before, to come and try something new.

“We look forward to meeting some new faces and to having a really lovely event.”
