FROM bra decorating competitions to a sponsored moustache shave — this year the Brendon Arms in Bude, went bigger and better than ever, raising over £3,000 for Breast Cancer Research UK.

The fundraising events kicked off with a pink themed wine and wisdom on Wednesday, followed by a cake auction, raffle, bra auction, performances from Amanda Brook School of Dance, on Friday and a big breakfast on Saturday. All proceeds from the breakfast went towards the charity.

'Dastardly Dick Turner' and 'Gunslinger Guy Pessell' raised over £1,000 themselves by shaving off their 30/40 year old moustaches.

One of the organisers, Steph Turner said: "We are still counting, but we know we have raised over £3,000 which is the highest amount ever raised. It's absolutely magnificent."

Steph added: "A huge thanks go to everyone who supported us. It was truly an amazing effort this year, the whole day was fantastic."
