TWO men from the Bude area were arrested after £15,000 worth of cocaine was allegedly found in the engine compartment of the car they were driving.
At about 10.30am on Thursday, November 6 officers from the Road Crime Unit observed a Peugeot 307 car travelling on the M5 between Cullompton and Exeter at speeds in excess of 100mph, police claim.
The police officers caused the vehicle to stop and questioned the men — aged 25 and 26 from the Bude area. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of what was believed to be cocaine, with a street value in the region of £15,000. The powder was located in the engine compartment.
The two men were arrested and later released on police bail. They are due to return to Heavitree Road Police Station, Exeter on January 19, 2009.
