PRAISE has been heaped on staff at Stratton Hospital as they continue to ensure patient care is not affected by the start of building works.

The long-awaited scheme is now underway to improve what is one of the oldest community hospitals in the country.

Phase one will see improvements to the physiotherapy department. Also, the minor injuries unit will be moved nearer to the existing entrance of the hospital and the X-ray department, so that patients can use these facilities more easily, rather than having to go through the in-patient area.

The work is being funded by NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
