ON the same day as they will be voting in the General Election on December 12, residents of the Bude Ward of Bude-Stratton Town Council have an opportunity to vote for a town councillor, writes Christine Williams.

Three candidates are standing in a by-election to fill a vacancy left by former Councillor Julia Bryson who now lives in Spain. They are:

Lorraine Corrigan Turner of Kings Hill (Liberal Democrat); Tom O’Sullivan of Marhamchurch; Patricia Richens (Labour).

Bude Ward residents should receive polling cards for both the General Election and the local by-election and at the polling station in the Parkhouse Centre will be able to vote in both elections.
