The new look Bude-Stratton Town Council met for the first time this evening, with a clear emphasis on change.

The first act of the meeting did however aline with tradition, and a new mayor and deputy were elected onto the council.

Keeping with the theme of change, a new face on the council, Cllr Amanda Tame was unanimously elected as the mayor of Bude-Stratton Town Council.

Speaking on her appointment Cllr Tame said: “Really from a technical point of view I am terribly inexperienced, but I think if we have somebody like me and how new I am, we can take this council onwards.”

Shortly after her appointment, Cllr Simon Browning was unanimously elected as deputy mayor.

Throughout the meeting many points were raised as to how the new council would be structured and how it could be changed going forward.
