THE MP for Torridge and West Devon has been asked by new Prime Minister Boris Johnson to continue on as Attorney General and legal advisor to the Government.

Mr Cox was appointed to the role of Attorney General by former Prime Minster Teresa May on July 9, 2018.

Following Mr Cox’s re-appointment, he said: “I am privileged to be asked by the Prime Minister to continue as the Attorney General and chief legal adviser to the Government at a time when respect for the rule of law and independent, objective and accurate legal advice have never been more critical to its mission and to our country’s reputation.”
