Devon and Cornwall Police have launched an appeal for witnesses after a hit-and-run collision in Bude.

Officers from Bude Police station are investigating a hit and run collision on Kings Hill, Bude, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 4.

They're seeking information on an incident where a small silver hatchback/SUV hit a cyclist and failed to stop. The incident took place between 00:00 (midnight) and 00:30hrs.

The vehicle was seen to come from Berries Avenue onto Kings Hill before driving off in the direction of the A39.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. In addition, officers are also appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the areas of Berries Avenue, Kings Hill, or the A39 around the same time that might have dash cam footage capturing a silver hatchback/small SUV that might be able to help with enquiries to identify the offending vehicle to contact Police, too.

The Officer in Charge of the investigation is PS 17496 Baldwin, and the reference is traffic collision URN 1272167. If you have any information which may help, Devon and Cornwall Police can be contacted on 101, quoting the reference number.

A spokesperson for Bude Police said: "We are investigating a hit-and-run collision on Kings Hill, Bude where a small silver hatchback / SUV hit a cyclist and failed to stop. The incident happened between 0000-0030hrs on 4th February.

"The vehicle was seen to come from Berries Avenue onto Kings Hill and then drive off in the direction of the A39.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. We are also appealing for anyone who may have been driving in the area of Berries Avenue, Kings Hill, A39 around the above time that may have Dashcam footage capturing a Silver Hatchback / Small SUV that may help with our enquiries to identify the offending vehicle.
