POLICE were on Tower Street, Launceston on Tuesday morning after a car rolled down the hill.

A member of the public called police at 7.30am, after they heard a car alarm, looked out of the window and saw the car on a kerb and in a small hedge.

Police on scene said: “It looks like the handbrake’s on. It appears to have rolled down the hill. It clipped the side of the wall. There was nobody with it.”

It was believed to have hit a couple of stationary cars.

They said it was not stolen and had tried to contact the registered keeper.

The road may be partially closed later this morning when the vehicle is recovered.
