Green-fingered members of Launceston Choral Society raised more than £200 for the society's funds by holding its first plant sale recently at Launceston Central Methodist Sunday School.

The brainchild of choir member Dottie de Vries, the sale was blessed with the sort of weather that gets people thinking about their summer garden.

For purchasers there was a wide variety of plants on sale from summer garden favourites to culinary herbs, healing aloe vera and conservatory specimens.

The event proved to be a profitable morning for both sellers and buyers.
