Plans to site 170 homes in Holsworthy has been approved by Torridge District Council’s planning team.

A RESERVED matters application for the appearance, layout, landscape and scale for the erection of 170 dwellings following the demolition of existing agricultural store, with public open space, engineering works and associated infrastructure has been given the green light by Torridge District Council.

This was despite five objections from residents.

The application, by Cavanna Homes (Devon) limited concerns proposals on land at North Road, Holsworthy.

The conditional approval stipulated that prior to their installation, samples of the facing and roofing materials to be used in the development shall be submitted to and agreed in writing by the local planning authority.

In addition, all windows to the dwellings must be recessed by a minimum of 50mm prior to occupation, the landscaping scheme approved must be implemented by the first planting season after the approval was granted.

Visitors parking for the proposed on-site allotments has also been stipulated.
