OUTLINE planning permission is being sought to construct a residential dwelling at North Petherwin.

The application, with all matters reserved, is for land between the residential property know as Green Acres and The Otter Sanctuary.

Documents submitted to Cornwall Council by agent for the application, TBS Cornwall Planning, state a previous planning application for construction of a dwelling on the site with all matters reserved was refused and a subsequent appeal was dismissed.

The agent said: “Due to changes within the Cornwall Local Plan in respect of Policy 3 and further to that the precedence that has been set across Cornwall relating to similar applications for infill and rounding off, I believe that this application should be considered for approval.”

The proposed site is a subdivision of the entire land owned by the applicant, which the agent said will allow the existing green buffer to remain as an established boundary to avoid future development into the open country side.

The final decision is expected to be made by Cornwall Council Plans Committee.
