PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.

Cornwall Council have confirmed that several roads in North Cornwall are set to be closed in the coming weeks.

These road closures are due to a number of reasons and as part of the authorisation process, they are required to advertise the proposed closures in local news titles in order to make the public aware.

The latest public notices indicate potential road closures in Stratton, Bude and Launceston.

STRATTON: Union Hill in Stratton is set for a road closure between September 7 and September 9.

It is to enable Circet TM to undertake cabling and desilting works on the road, between the junction with New Road and the property known as Pyewell.

The prohibition on through traffic will be in place between 8am and 6pm on these days, although pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained to properties in the affected area.

BUDE: Coast Road in Bude is set to be closed to through traffic between September 7 and September 9.

The closure is necessary to enable Cormac Solutions Ltd to undertake repairs to a perforated pipe installation.

It will be in force for 24 hours a day, weekdays only.

The section of the road that will be closed is between grid reference SS 19597 00967 and the junction to the access to Widemouth Bay Caravan Park.

Pedestrian access will be maintained to properties in the affected area.

LAUNCESTON: North Beer Lane in Launceston is set to be closed between September 21 and September 29.

The closure is to enable National Grid to undertake new electric connection works in the area with the stretch of road affected being North Beer Lane between the junction known as The Bramble and the junction with Tala Hill.

An alternative route will be signposted on site for the duration of the closure, which will be in force for 24 hours a day, weekends included between the dates listed.
