PLANNING permission is being sought from Cornwall Council for the installation of a 5MW solar PV array on land at Lower Tregeen Farm, Davidstow.

The proposal by applicant Powerquinn Ltd also includes associated infrastructure and formation of temporary access track to serve the development.

A design and access statement by agent Peter Wonnacott Planning states that the applicant is seeking to use the output from the solar PV array to supply electricity into the grid, and that a grid connection is available to the applicant to the north west of the site.

The estimated number of homes that would be supplied is 1,180.

Land uses on the site would be maintained, specifically sheep grazing, which the agent said would also allow for natural management of the vegetation under the solar panels to avoid the site becoming overgrown.
