DID you know the Bude WI raises money each year for its chosen charity?

This year the membership voted to dedicate its fundraising for the benefit of the Bude Memory Café.

Over recent years the WI has raised money for the defibrillators, which are now located all over town, the Cornwall Air Ambulance, Bude First Responders and the Bude Sea Pool.

Members raise funds by holding raffles and events during the year.

The Bude WI had a stall at the recent Bude Stratton Heritage Day and, despite the awful weather, introduced the general public to the WI by the distribution of free magazines and information as how they fulfil their purpose: to inspire women.

During the Heritage Day Festival they also sold small hand made items and the money raised will be included in the funds for the Bude Memory Café.

Their next big fundraiser, is the annual coffee morning when more photographs of daring deeds will be displayed.

This will be held on Friday, August 10, in the main hall of the Parkhouse Centre between 10am and noon.

There is no entrance fee and there will be coffee/tea and home made cakes, with lots of seating, the usual amazing bottle tombola, a competition to win a cake, a raffle and a home made produce, needle craft, cake and garden stall.

Everyone is invited to come along and make this day a great success and don’t forget all the money raised will go to the Bude Memory Café.
