PEOPLE are ‘ashamed’ to walk through a part of Launceston because of its current state, councillors have been told.

At Launceston Town Council’s planning committee meeting on December 22, planning committee chairman Cllr Rob Tremain spoke of Castle Dyke, and said ‘over the years there have been several problems with rubbish’.

He added: “We have been trying for years to get that site up to a reasonable standard. Folks are ashamed to walk through Castle Dyke at the moment.”

Cllr Dave Gordon suggested the committee contacts Cornwall Council/Cory Environmental to highlight concerns.
