Businesses and residents in Pembroke have been informed of the shooting schedule for a Hollywood movie set to be filmed in the town next month.
Best selling novel 'Me Before You' by author Jojo Moyes, which tells the story of a small town girl who forms a bond with a recently paralysed man she is caring for, is set to star Emilia Clarke, of Game of Thrones fame, and Sam Claflin, of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and 2 in the lead roles, with Pembroke's Main Street being used as one of the key locations for the filming.
The production will be filming in Pembroke for five days, between May 15 and 20, with the first day set to see the footpath on the north-west quay side of the Mill Pond between Rocky Park and The Cornstore, and the Mill Pond walk on the south-east quay side of the Mill Pond used. Traffic control measures are set to be in place from 10 am 'til 3 pm on that Friday in the area.
Monday will see filming inside Pembroke Castle take place, while on Tuesday, Westgate Hill and Main Street will be used throughout the day, with again traffic controlling measures in place.
Parking stewards will be on site throughout the day to help remind drivers of parking suspensions in place.
On the final day of filming, the action will again be at Westgate Hill and also Northgate Street, between 4.30 and 6 pm, while Main Street will be used from 6 pm until 1 am the following morning.
To aid the filming, a number of trailers and technical support trucks will be based at the Commons Car Park and the facility adjacent to Westgate Evangelical Chapel, with these two car parks set to be closed from May 14 to 21.
"Filming around a busy High Street can be inconvenient to local businesses and residents, however we are hopeful this can be achieved with the minimum disruption possible," said location manager, Paul Tomlinson.
The Pinewood based production company MBY Productions UK Ltd. are working in consultation with Pembrokeshire County Council over the filming.
