P&DMVC were there with the Australian Welsh MVC too to lend variety. It is believed that one member of the Australian choir has strong connections with Tenby, it being the home town of his youth. Whatever the connection, it was an honour to be asked to perform there, individually and jointly.
P&DMVC were also able to help one Australian choir member connect with a relation of his in Cardiff. The lady concerned wrote to our e-mail site in an effort to encourage the chorister to make contact while he was over here knowing that we were to meet sometime.
All her details were successfully passed to the chorister concerned prior to the concert by P&DMVC officials. How small and convenient is the world now in the age of computers is it not!
St. Mary's, more or less full to capacity, is a fine place to sing and P&DMVC gave a good account of themselves as their contribution towards an excellent night's entertainment. Tenby's conductor, Mr. Williams was in fine form on the night and presented most of the proceedings.
Not an extensive report this as it is fully expected that Tenby MVC will be submitting a full report of the event, this being their event so to speak. Merely to report that the night was a terrific one and there was plenty of bonhomie to be enjoyed by all choristers and musical teams in common cause. That was to demonstrate the choral tradition is alive and kicking still and can provide fine entertainment for those with an ear for music of all kinds.
P&DMVC thank the organisers for their efforts on everyone's behalf and for the generous provision of light refreshments in sustaining everyone.
P&DMVC wish Tenby MVC every success over their planned future forays which we believe they are busy raising funds to support at this moment.
