A HEARTFELT plea from Bude has hit its target and means a Falklands veteran who is a paraplegic can carry on surfing.

Steve Binns can still ride on the crest of the waves thanks to the charity Surf Action and an American charity's generosity.

Two very successful residential weeks were held in Bude for veterans suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and physical injuries generously supported by the local population and businesses.

A Surf Action Bude Group was established to continue this excellent work for more locally-based veterans.
