A CREAM tea event, organised by the Delabole branch of the Royal British Legion, was held at the Methodist Church on Sunday, June 26.

The event was well supported with all the tables in the Sunday school room full of people tucking into delicious cream teas, cakes and strawberries and cream.

There was also a number of stalls for people to browse, including a cake stall, tombola, raffle and Royal British Legion merchandise.

A total of £345 was raised from the event.

Geoff Cleave, Delabole branch president, extended his thanks to branch members for helping out, the ladies who did a tremendous job with the refreshments and everyone who donated prizes or supported it in any way.

“In spite of the terrible weather, the people of Delabole and surrounding areas, yet again came out in force to support this event.

“It was great to see so many people catching up with friends and neighbours. Thanks to everybody for their support.”
