THE Kivells team has been congratulated after having raised an impressive, £1,803 so far to date for their chosen charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
Every single penny that they have raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support be there every step of the way for people affected by cancer.
The Kivells team members held a variety of events this year to raise money for their chosen charity for 2016.
Their first event was a ‘February instruction donation’, this involved the team donating £10 to Macmillan for every instruction during the month of February to sell or let a property.
The Launceston branch held an ‘Easter Chick Hunt’, where they raised money by creating an Easter chick hunt with local businesses and shops who featured an Easter Chick in their window display. Children from the area then made a donation to take part in the hunt and try and find them all.
Six team members from a few branches ran the Plymouth Half Marathon on April 17, raising money through sponsorship for taking part in the event.
Local representative for Macmillan, Sian Ward-Edwards said: “We are delighted to have the support of such a great local family run business like Kivells. They have done an amazing job raising £1,803 so far and have lots of plans to raise even more.We rely on the support of the local community to fund our services and help the growing number of people affected by cancer.
“These funds could pay for six families in Devon to receive a much needed grant to help with the financial burden of cancer.”
She added: “People affected by cancer tell us that they are on average £570 worse off a month because of their illness and they report turning their heating off during the winter and not being able to cover their bills whilst trying to manage a household.
“Macmillan gives out grants to families that are struggling and support from companies like Kivells really does make a difference!”
The Kivells team thanked everyone for their sponsorship and support throughout their fund raising efforts and for all the donations for Macmillan Cancer Support.
They are looking forward to continuing their fundraising efforts and will be holding more events in the coming year in order to help raising even more money for the charity.
