A NEW communal lounge has been officially opened so residents of Meadowlands Court in Bude can enjoy a comforting space in which to socialise.
Jenny Ford was elected chairperson of the Meadowlands Court Residents’ Association in 2024. Since that time she has seen a number of improvements made to the site and was pleased to be able to announce this latest, which she hopes will become a vibrant hub of community life.
Jenny said it was thanks to owners, Regency Living, and their support that this milestone upgrade had been accomplished.
She said: “Since Regency Living acquired ownership of the site, a number of improvements and developments have taken place to enhance the experience and wellbeing of our residents. One of the most significant of these has been the creation of a new Communal Lounge, commissioned at the beginning of 2026.
“Our Residents’ Association committee consists of four members: vice chairperson, secretary, treasurer, and myself as chairperson. We are supported by our Regency Living operations manager and area manager, who oversee the day‑to‑day needs of residents and work closely with the association to address any concerns.”
A formal opening was held on Friday, July 3, at 11am, where residents could join for refreshments and an opportunity to meet with the residents’ association committee and the Regency Living management team.
The communal lounge will now be open daily for a wide range of activities, including general meetings, social gatherings, quiz evenings, coffee mornings, and quiet reading from the newly established mini library.
Jenny added: “The bookcases and sofas have been generously donated by our residents, and we are grateful for their support in helping to create a welcoming shared space.
“We look forward to seeing the lounge become a vibrant hub of community life at Meadowlands Court.”
