NORTH Petherwin dairy farmer and Cornwall Councillor for Launceston North Adam Paynter will be running the London Marathon on April 17 in aid of the Robert Johns Leukaemia Fund.
Trustee of the charity, Bob Johns said:?"If you would like to sponsor him or make a donation to the above regarding the marathon it would be very much appreciated. You can contact Adam or myself, or donate through the donation button on the website (http://www.rjlf.co.uk">www.rjlf.co.uk).
"They have made massive progress regarding leukaemia in the 28 years since my son Robert died of it, and I'm hopeful that one day we can cure this awful disease."
As part of the fundraising, a mini-marathon will also be run in the local area in conjunction with Cllr Paynter's attempt.
"Our mini-marathon will, I hope, involve 26 people to run or walk one mile each around our local area, at the same time as Adam is running in London," Bob added.
"There will be a marquee and refreshments at the start and finish, and a first-aid toilet."
Bob is welcoming participants for the mini-marathon in the hope of raising more funds for the charity.
