THERE will be no change to the Camelford parish boundary.
The decision was made at the last full meeting of Camelford Town Council, where they unanimously decided to make no changes to the parish boundary.
Councillors also agreed on 22 formal council meetings for the year, with two taking place each month.
Town clerk, Esther Grieg, reported that there is ‘nothing that benefits’ the area to make any changes, which would include absorbing Advent or Davidstow parishes.
Deputy mayor, Rob Rotchell, said of the two parishes: “For Davidstow, the number one agenda item is the cheese factory. If they requested a change, I wouldn’t want us to be distracted by stuff going on at the cheese factory. I would want us to say no to any approach from any other parish to change the structure.”
The council came to the decision for the parish boundary to remain as it is. The request will be sent to Cornwall Council.
