BUDE U3A members joined together to celebrate another successful year at their annual meeting in the Parkhouse Centre.

The committee was elected, with Fenella Wojarowska continuing as chairperson.

The U3A was also delighted to welcome 18 recently joined members, who are now all taking part in many of the varied interest groups that make up the organisation.

The Parkhouse Centre hall was lined by table displays celebrating group activities from theatre trips to quilting, from geology to poetry, scrabble to singing and drama — and many more besides.

Following the formal proceedings, the creative writing group entertained everyone with excellent short stories — some funny, some poignant, and some very surprising!

Next month will see the launch of the Bude U3A Cookbook, packed with members’ recipes, drawings, pictures, hints, tips and fascinating facts.

The next open monthly meeting, to which anyone is welcome, will be on November 19 at 2.30pm at the Parkhouse Centre, where Denni Clarke will explain ‘The crop circle mystery’.

The next coffee morning is on Friday, November 6, at The Weir Café from 10.30am to 12.30pm.?All are welcome.
