Veterninary surgeon and party activist, Tom O’Sullivan, from Marhamchurch, has been elected as branch chairman.
Veteran Liberal Democrat and former district councillor, Tony Edwards, who first campaigned for the party in 1945, spoke about how it ‘warmed the cockles of his heart to see such enthusiasm for the party’. Tony was also delighted at the numbers who gathered for the meeting, as it was the biggest attendance at a party meeting in Bude he had seen for many years.
Former North Cornwall MP, Dan Rogerson, said: “I congratulate the newly elected officers of the branch and all the members. Liberal Democrats have strong support in Bude and the surrounding area, based on our reputation of getting things done for local communities.”
The Bude members join the other branches in North Cornwall in looking forward to organising many more successful meetings.
The branch is happy to hear from anyone wishing to learn more about events and the Liberal Democrat party.
